The LEAD Institute is now enrolling for July Training!

Now enrolling for July LEAD Institute Training!

There are key areas of training that can increase your effectiveness as a ministry leader. For the past five years, The LEAD Institute has been training leaders like you in how to improve your fundraising results, develop your board, manage your volunteers, and get all those administrative details under control.

We offer training in these key areas and recognize that you don’t have a lot of time to take away from your organization. LEAD classes are held every other Friday morning, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, giving you time to work on your organization while you work in your organization. Over a ten-month period (July 2012 to May 2013), you will receive over 55 hours of classroom training. Not only will you be taught by subject matter experts, but you’ll also take away tools and techniques that you’ll be able to immediately apply to your organization.

Additionally, you will be provided with an experienced business person to act as a coach and advisor as you go through the training.  Here’s what a ministry leader had to say about LEAD training:

The LEAD training for nonprofit executives provides information about best practices for nonprofits. The Lord definitely blessed the Georgia Avenue Community Ministry when he brought this program to us. I will be a much better equipped executive for the nonprofit I am blessed to serve.

-Chad Hale, Georgia Avenue Community Ministry

Communities in Schools of Marietta/Cobb County seeks Elementary School Tutors
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you have one hour per week to help an elementary school student succeed?
Communities in Schools, our nation’s leading dropout prevention organization, is currently seeking elementary school tutors to help in the Marietta/Cobb County area. Georgia currently only has a 72.3% graduation rate; however, studies have shown that a child who reads proficiently by 3rd grade is more likely to graduate from high school. Literacy tutors help students increase their confidence as well as improve upon their reading level. Training is provided and tutor matches are based on the tutor’s preference.
If you are interested in helping a student achieve in school, please contact Meghan Wilson at (678) 503-0901 or mwilson@cismcc.org
Sharing Post Guidelines
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 Here are the current guidelines for submission of items to be sent through this feature – Please save these guidelines for future reference.  We currently send out the Sharing Post once a month generally between the 20th and 25th of the month. All items submitted must be received by the 15th of each month to make it in that month’s Sharing Post transmission. Otherwise, it will go out in the Sharing Post for the next month (we will also share information through our Facebook group and page). Please keep that in mind when you send us your information to share – particularly if your news is time-sensitive.

The Sharing Post is a CFP Partner benefit. Even though we will now be sending Sharing Post info to EVERYONE on our email list, only CFP Partner organizations are able to share their info through this feature. We will check affiliate status with every submission. If your status with CFP is not current, we will not forward your information.

  • To include an item for submission, please send your information to info@cobbfaithpartnership.org with the words “Sharing Post” (without the quotes) in the subject of your message.
  • All submissions should be in a plain text-ready format, and the text should be simply copied and pasted in your email message. NO ATTACHMENTS PLEASE.
  • **Please keep your submissions to 300 words or less ** (which equals a couple of paragraphs).
  • Please do not include fancy formatting or pictures.
  • Please do not send PDF or Publisher documents from which the info cannot be readily copied and pasted.
  • Please be considerate of others and only submit one item per posting period. We may re-run your item if you send it early enough, but we will not run 2 or more items in the same publication.
  • For routine items that are time-sensitive, please adhere to our lead-time and deadlines no later than the 15th of each month… and of course the earlier you send to us, the better. If an item is of an emergency or urgent nature, we will do our best to send out the information as an Emergency Request, but we cannot make any promises. Please do not ask for any exceptions, and please limit these requests to actual emergency situations!
  • INDIVIDUAL OR OTHERS: Please do not send us requests for churches, ministries, or organizations which are not CFP Partners. Rather, we encourage you to reach out to those groups and convince them to join CFP so they can take advantage of all the benefits of CFP Affiliation. Individual partners who want to post items for non-member groups they represent need to consider upgrading their status to a Organization Partnership.

Items are sent at the discretion of the Communications Team. Anything sent through our Sharing Post feature should not be considered as an endorsement – either expressed or implied – by CFP. We also reserve the right to reject and/or edit any posts we deem offensive or that do not support the purposes of CFP. We will not retype anything you send, so if we cannot easily copy and paste in our email program, we will not send it outWe cannot be held responsible for missing posts or non-receipt of posts. Be sure to send them to info@cobbfaithpartnership.org and include “Sharing Post” in the subject line to make sure your message is not weeded out as SPAM.

We look forward to serving you. Thanks as always for your support.
